Warner Bros Kicks Off a 'TDKR' Tumbler & Bat-Pod N.A. Road Tour

The Dark Knight Rises Tumbler

Now that Avengers is out of the way, Warner Bros can start their epic marketing to conclude Chris Nolan's Batman series in all its glory this July. One of the first big announcements is a Tumbler Tour 2012, not to be confused with Tumblr, where the blog is hosted. "The Tumbler and the Bat-Pod are hitting the road and traveling across North America." Right now they have listed 26 cities (including in Canada) starting with Arkansas on May 12th, ending in Los Angeles on July 7th, which is perfectly timed for a premiere. Not many details are known yet, since it's just kicking off, but a few early photos have hit. But what about "The Bat"? ›››

Check This Out: Amazing Updated 'Girls of James Bond' Infographic

Daniel Craig - Bond GIrls

"Shaken, not stirred." Ohh those Bond Girls. One staple of the series that can never, and will never change - the Bond Girls, the bombshell beauties who play double agents, henchman, or stunning debutantes who can't resist the charm of 007. Everyone has their favorite, everyone has their guilty pleasure, and everyone has their least favorite, too. This new infographic created by Cable TV called Girls of James Bond (found in SlashFilm's Page 2) is the definitive, the ultimate, James Bond Girls guide, for all 23 of the Bond movies, including Skyfall. I wanted to save this until closer to Skyfall's release, but it's too damn good to pass up. ›››

Watch: 'Men in Black 3' Movie Theater Featurette Has More Footage

Men in Black 3

Though Will Smith is usually the kind of 4th of July opening weekends, this time that slot belongs to The Amazing Spider-Man. But Columbia Pictures has another top holiday spot for Men in Black 3 on Memorial Day weekend as the film opens on May 25th in just a couple of weeks. We've already had a couple of trailers showing us the crowded time travel storyline, but now a new featurette dives into the mix of Agent J with a young Agent K, brought to life amazingly by Josh Brolin, doing a fantastic impression of Tommy Lee Jones. You may have seen this in movie theaters (I know I have), but we have it below! ›››

Must Watch: First Full Trailer for Ruben Fleischer's 'Gangster Squad'

Gangster Squad

We've seen a couple cool photos from Ruben Fleischer's (Zombieland) period drama Gangster Squad that boasts an impressive cast including Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Emma Stone, Anthony Mackie, Nick Nolte, Bryan Cranston, Michael Pena, Giovanni Ribisi and more. But now the real meat and potatoes have arrived with the first trailer for the film which follows a vigilante police force that fought the gangsters of the 40's and 50's in Los Angeles on their own terms. Sometimes Penn looks a bit like a Dick Tracy villain, but this flick looks amazing and likely a great stride for Fleischer as a director. Watch! ›››

Check Out Two Better International Posters for 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation'

G.I. Joe: Retaliation

Yesterday we featured a pretty disappointing final theatrical poster for G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and it was nothing short of a Photoshop mess. But today, two new international posters have surfaced that have a much sleeker design and much less obvious glossy touch-ups (though Bruce Willis still looks weird). Honestly, Paramount should just take one of these posters and slap the English title on it and send that out across the United States instead. Not only do they look better (mostly because of less dead white space), but they both fit with the original design from the poster for Rise of Cobra from three years ago. Look below! ›››

Marvel/Disney's 'The Avengers' Hits $200 Million Opening Weekend

The Avengers - $200 Million!

"Puny God." Hulk smashes the box office. And it didn't take long. The Walt Disney Studios announced with a press release on Sunday morning, before the weekend was even finished, that Marvel's The Avengers is estimated to earn a total $200.3 million in its opening weekend run here in the US. If that estimate is true (official this morning - closer to ~$205M) it has just set a new box office record for opening weekend, easily passing $169 million set by Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 last year. This is a huge opening, but well worth it for a movie that does deliver after a five-film, four-year crossover lead up. Bravo, Marvel. ›››

Check Out Kinetix's Expensive 'Dark Knight Rises' Shirts from Kitson

The Dark Knight Rises Kinetix

The Fire Rises! We should probably just make a new "Merch" category specifically for The Dark Knight Rises. On top of the t-shirt contest held by Design By Humans, which just announced their winner, there is another high fashion shop revealing their own line of Dark Knight Rises apparel. These were discovered by Collider, who found a display from Kitson in Santa Monica featuring lots of shirts inspired by Batman, including a few of Catwoman, created by designer "Kinetix". The unfortunate part is that they cost $48, which is a bit too expensive for my tastes, especially when even DBH sells for $22. That said, they are cool. ›››

First Look: Two Beautiful Leads in 'Beautiful Creatures' Adaptation

Beautiful Creatures

While it looks like Hunger Games will likely take the spot of Twilight once it wraps up this fall, Warner Bros is putting in their bid for the female-centric young adult genre in the form Beautiful Creatures. The "supernatural star-crossed romance" (ugh already) is based on Margaret Stohl's popular 2009 novel and is currently shooting right now, under the direction of Richard LaGravenese. EW.com has published a first look at the two young leads - Jack O'Connell ("Skins", This is England) and newcomer Alice Englert, who play star-crossed lovers Ethan and Alice down in South Carolina. Oh boy, this is going to get steamy. ›››

Watch: Quick, New Bond 23 'Skyfall' Production Design Video Blog

Skyfall Production Design

"It's about finding things that are different and exciting for the audience to look at." Time for another short break to explore the Bond universe. 007.com has just posted the latest video blog following James Bond's Skyfall, still being directed by Sam Mendes as we speak. This blog focuses briefly on production designer Dennis Gassner and his work designing the sets, including an "enormous underground station" which looks to be the new MI6 HQ. Judi Dench also chats briefly and there's a few more behind-the-scenes shots, but overall this is just a quick video blog reminding us why this is definitely a film to keep an eye on. Enjoy! ›››

Must Watch: Third Trailer for Marc Webb's 'The Amazing Spider-Man'

The Amazing Spider-Man Trailer

"This life is not an easy one..." Sony has officially released the third & likely final trailer for Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man, also showing on Avengers this weekend, along with The Dark Knight Rises third & final trailer. It's honestly best to see this thing in 3D, because it has some amazing shots that will really pop in the third dimension. The trailer follows the second and first teaser for the new Spidey, starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Denis Leary and Sally Field. Honestly, after this trailer, I don't know how anyone can't be pumped to see this! ›››

Tyler Stout The Avengers

It's high time for Marvel Studio's The Avengers, as the studio is finally ready to unleash this fanboy wet dream superhero team-up worldwide this week - and the best news of all is that it turned out awesome. That means any and every piece of marketing, plus fanboy masterwork, and any other artwork related to the movie has just about hit the web—and a few galleries—in time for its launch. There's so much hitting, I've decided to roll everything up and feature a few favorites. Starting with, of course, Mondo's final Avengers poster in their series, this one a Tyler Stout creation and boy is it gorgeous. Review: Marvel Finally Assembles 'The Avengers' to Awesome Results

The Avengers Review

Chris Evans as Captain America. Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. Chris Hemsworth as Thor. Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk. Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow. And they're all under one roof. Since 2008, The Avengers has been on the minds of moviegoers everywhere. Thanks to deft screenwriting and a grandeur Joss Whedon brings to its execution, that film is here, and it delivers. It may not be the most accomplished of comic book movies or even the best Marvel Studios has to offer from recent years, but The Avengers blazes a trail like few others, satiating the appetites of superhero junkies the world over. ›››

Video Blog: Marvel's 'The Avengers' Initial Reactions with SlashFilm

The Avengers

After releasing in international theaters last weekend, Disney and Marvel Studios are finally opening Joss Whedon's The Avengers in theaters in the US this week. The movie actually screened about three weeks ago at its world premiere in Los Angeles, where a large number of movie bloggers/press first saw the movie inside the world famous Grauman's Chinese. Following the screening, immediately after, I met up with a few friends like Peter Sciretta and Germain Lussier, both of SlashFilm, to discuss our initial reactions and thoughts on the kick ass superhero movie we just saw. I'm prefacing this with the reminder that we recorded three weeks ago after our first screening of it, though I'm excited to see it a few more times as soon as I can. ›››

Watch: Filmmaker Featurette on 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter'

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Up until now, the trailers for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter haven't impressed me. We'll toss it up to a difference in taste and perceptions of the story itself, but so far I've yet to see anything from the film that doesn't make the concept look completely ridiculous whereas many people who have read the book adamantly say it's supposed to be taken seriously. Somehow there are people who think it looks silly, and love that, while others actually believe the dark, dramatic tone. Either way, a new feauturette with Tim Burton, Timur Bekmambetov and Seth Grahame-Smith is the first time I've been intrigued. Watch! ›››

First Official Trailer for Sundance Smash 'Beasts of the Southern Wild'

Beasts of the Southern Wild Trailer

"A storm's coming!" Fox Searchlight has unveiled the first official trailer via Apple for Benh Zeitlin's award winning, highly praised, beloved indie smash from Sundance this year, Beasts of the Southern Wild. This is the film that I, and pretty much everyone else, fell in love with and it went on to win the Grand Jury Prize. The adorable little Quvenzhané Wallis plays Hushpuppy, and Dwight Henry her father Wink, but there are no other names, though that doesn't matter. This is a film made with passion, telling an incredible story, with amazing characters, in a vivid world, and it's still one of the best films I've seen this year so far. ›››
