Video Blog: Disney/Pixar CinemaCon Showcase with 'Brave' & Marvel
Another day at CinemaCon 2012, another Hollywood presentation. Last night The Walt Disney Company hosted their big presentation looking at their upcoming slate of movies. Disney has become a huge studio in the last few years, taking over Marvel, as well as their own live action and animation productions, plus Pixar of course. The event included a lot of updates on Pixar projects (that we've covered as separate news) as well as a quick recap of Marvel's slate, and also a recap of their upcoming projects like Sam Raimi's Oz: The Great and Powerful and Tim Burton's Frankenweenie. Fire up our latest CinemaCon video blog below! ›››

Pixar Announces Lee Unkrich's Next Project About Dia de los Muertos
Dia de los Muertos, also known as the "Day of the Dead", the Mexican holiday celebrated in November to remember friends and family members who have passed. That will be the setting of the next, new original Pixar movie being directed by Lee Unkrich (of Toy Story 3). During Disney/Pixar's presentation at the industry convention CinemaCon yesterday, the studio officially announced that Unkrich will be working on a Dia de los Muertos movie, showing an early logo for the project. It's not scheduled yet, but likely to arrive in either 2015 or 2016 (if you can imagine that far out already) following Pete Docter's "mind" movie. ›››

Pixar Updates: Dinosaur Movie Title Announced, 'Nemo' in 3D & More
Tonight at the industry convention CinemaCon, The Walt Disney Company hosted their big presentation, looking at their upcoming slates of movies in 2012, 2013 and beyond. One half of the presentation focused on Pixar, and their slate coming up, from screening the first 30 minutes of Brave footage (which really impressed me) to their upcoming films in 2013, 2014 and even 2015, as they announced a June 19th, 2015 release date for Pete Docter's next new film, currently known as The Untitled Pixar Movie That Takes You Inside the Mind. But there's more! Another title was just announced and a few other details were revealed. ›››

Third Official Trailer for Pixar's Fairytale Adventure 'Brave' Revealed
"If you had the chance to change your fate, would you?" Disney/Pixar has just unveiled the third official full-length trailer (via Apple) for Brave, Pixar's first fairytale, a Scottish adventure about a red-haired princess named Merida and her family, and three brothers. Kelly Macdonald voices Merida, Emma Thompson voices the Queen, and Billy Connolly the King. We've seen many trailers and footage for this already, and while I'm always going to go see every Pixar movie, it seems they've been hiding a lot of where the actual story goes in Brave, including something involving those bears. Looks like Pixar magic yet again! ›››

Check Out This Vibrant New Poster for Pixar's Animated Epic 'Brave'
Later this week a brand new trailer for Pixar's first venture into the medieval epic will debut online, but in the meantime, we have a vibrant new poster for the anticipated summer release of Brave. Hopefully it's a film that will help audiences forget that Pixar missed the Oscar boat this year with Cars 2 getting left out of the Academy Award nominations for Best Animated Film. Princess Merida (voiced by "Boardwalk Empire" regular Kelly Macdonald) is front and center on the poster, and in the film she'll be joined by characters voiced by Emma Thompson, Craig Ferguson, Billy Connolly, Robbie Coltrane and more. Look! ›››

Check This Out: Amazing Fan-Made 'The Incredibles 2' Concept Art
Whoa. Calling Mr. Incredible! While we've heard from Brad Bird himself that it's very unlikely, at least for a while, that we'll see The Incredibles 2, one fan has taken on the massive of challenge of possibly hinting at what a sequel could be like. I was a sent an email from Edwin Rhemrev, a "visual development artist", who linked me to his own blog post featuring some Incredibles 2 concept art he created. But he reminds me "it's a fanproject though, so be aware these are not official Pixar images or anything" - indeed. All I had to do was take one look and was stunned, these are amazing, you've got to see them anyway, just to dream... ›››

"She's your anti-princess." There's a brand new trailer for Pixar's Brave, their animated fairytale movie for summer 2012, coming tomorrow (Tuesday), but in the meantime Yahoo News has a first look at some of the other characters we haven't seen in public yet. Brave, which we saw a teaser trailer for this summer, is about the red-haired Princess Merida, voiced by Kelly Macdonald, and her mother Queen Elinor, voiced by Emma Thompson, and father, King Fergus, voiced by Billy Connolly, who we see below along with her triplet brothers (Harris, Hubert, and Hamish). There's more to read on Yahoo, but check out the new image. ...

First Look: New 'Toy Story' Short 'Small Fry' Playing Before 'Muppets'
Time to meet... Buzz? Yep, it's 'lil Buzz, or Happy Meal-toy Buzz! There's a new Pixar short film attached to The Muppets in theaters later this month called Small Fry, featuring most of the beloved Toy Story toy cast, and some brand new toys. USA Today reveals the first look photo (we have another one below via Pixar Times) featuring Buzz Lightyear, both big and small. "It's like the Prince and the Pauper tale for toys," says writer/director Angus MacLane. "Except one of them happens to be 3 inches tall." I've seen the short and it's hilarious, worth going to theaters for this alone. I wouldn't be surprised if this lil guy is based on reality. ...

Billy Crystal Talks Up Pixar's 'Monsters University' Being 'Hilarious'
Mike & Sulley are back! Pixar is already in production on Monsters University, a prequel to Monsters Inc, being directed by Dan Scanlon. The lovable duo of Mike Wazowski and James P. 'Sulley' Sullivan are back at the University of Fear, as it tells the story of how they became scarers, and friends, in college. Billy Crystal, who voices Mike, was at a Q&A for a Hero Complex screening of City Slickers recently and spoke briefly about the movie, saying encouraging things - for anyone that's worried. But there's nothing to worried about, this will turn out amazing, right? "It's really a great script, it's really funny." More below! ...

Sound Off: Disney/Pixar's Sequel 'Cars 2' - So What Did You Think?
Now that you've seen it, what did you think? It's Pixar weekend in 2011 and this time they're serving up another sequel, Cars 2, picking up pretty much where the first Cars from 2006 left off. John Lasseter gets director credit again, with Brad Lewis co-director, on an adventure all around the world. Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) is back, but the story mainly focuses on Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) basically becoming a spy with Finn McMissile (Michael Caine). So how is it? Was it a bad choice for Pixar to make a sequel to this? Is it fun to watch? If you've seen it, leave a comment and tell us what you thought of Cars 2! ...

First Teaser Poster for Pixar's 'Brave' About Scottish Princess Merida
Are you ready to be introduced to the new Pixar movie for 2012? Disney has revealed the first teaser poster for Pixar's Brave over on Entertainment Weekly (via ComingSoon) today, to compliment the new teaser trailer that's attached to Cars 2 opening this weekend (go see it!). It's a very lush and gorgeous first look at the world we'll be getting into come next summer. To be honest, I'm not totally sold on this redhead Merida character yet, but I love the imagery and those little blue flames, whatever they are. The voice cast includes Kelly Macdonald as Merida, Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson, Kevin McKidd and even Robbie Coltrane, too. ...

Check Out This Excellent Vintage Bond-Like Poster for Pixar's 'Cars 2'
The First James Bond-Cars Film Adventure! I've got a confession to make: Pixar really sold me with this whole James Bond mixed with Cars storyline. I'm hooked. And brilliantly designed posters like this are only making me more excited to see this, which I know is pretty much sacrilege to Pixar devotees who despise the first Cars. This new "vintage" poster for Pixar's Cars 2 recently hit the web and while I can't find its true origin, I owe credit to Upcoming Pixar and Cinema Blend for helping me find a high res version. I just love how perfectly classic James Bond it is, with the European villain-car guy and everything. Enjoy!

Lightning and Mater travel around the world for the Race of Champions, but when Mater saves the life of a British secret agent named Finn McMissile, he gets entangled in a spy thriller, only no one believes him.
Cars 2 is being directed by former Pixar producer Brad Lewis, who is making his directorial debut following producing work on Ratatouille. We've also heard that John Lasseter has returned to Pixar to help co-direct, but Disney is quick to deny that. No screenplay credits are listed yet for Cars 2. Disney will be bringing Cars 2 to theaters everywhere in Disney Digital 3D starting June 24th in the middle of the summer. I can't wait!

Watch: John Lasseter Chats 'Cars 2' Inspiration in Sneak Peek Video
We just featured the theatrical trailer for Pixar's Cars 2 earlier this week, which as we now known is kind of a James Bond movie mixed with an international racecar adventure. Yea, that sounds cheesy, but I'm sure it will have all the same charm every Pixar film has. To explain how they're achieving that, John Lasseter (director of the first Cars) recorded a fun "Sneak Peek" video talking about how he was inspired by traveling the world. "If ever I have the chance to do a sequel, I want to take the characters around the world." He also says the character Finn McMissile was actually developed for use Cars, but not used. Watch the full video!
Cars 2 sees Lightning and Mater traveling around the world for the Race of Champions that includes other disciplines like Formula One. Mater ends up in a 'Hitchcockian' case of mistaken identity, saves the life of a British secret agent named Finn McMissile and becomes embroiled in a spy thriller, but no one believes him.
Cars 2 is being co-directed by former Pixar producer Brad Lewis, making his directorial debut after working on Ratatouille, as well as Pixar mastermind John Lasseter, director of Cars, A Bug's Life and Toy Story 1 & 2, who came back to work on this sequel last year. No screenplay credits are listed yet. Disney is bringing Cars 2 to theaters everywhere in Disney Digital 3D starting June 24th this summer. Getting excited yet?

Must Watch: Awesome New Daytona 500 TV Spot for Pixar's 'Cars 2'
It looks like Transformers: Dark of the Moon wasn't the only movie getting some exposure at the Daytona 500 yesterday. But of course - Pixar's Cars 2, one of the most deserving films to be at that race, also got a brand new 60-second TV spot packed full of new footage and more. Though we've already seen a full teaser trailer for this, I think I'm starting to get a bitter gist of the story and it basically seems like a Bond movie mixed with an international car race, which actually seems pretty awesome. It's really just a damn good TV spot. Like The Pixar Blog says, "How could anybody not look forward to seeing Cars 2 after watching this?"
Watch the first full TV spot from the Daytona 500 for Pixar's Cars 2:

John Lasseter Gets His Own Character in 'Cars 2' - John Lassetire!
For the last month or so, Disney has been slowly unveiling new characters from Pixar's Cars 2 one car at a time. Yes, despite seeing a teaser trailer back in November, there are still many more characters we have yet to meet, including this one - "John Lassetire." Yes, it's a Cars car for Pixar's original mastermind - John Lasseter. Although he's apparently co-directing the movie, ABC News was the first to reveal the photo and his cameo, because even he didn't know about it. "It was news to me... I was a little surprised. It was just one line, but now I have a Cars character. I'm very excited about that. He's a good ol' American pick-up truck."
Click on the photo below to see it fullsize thanks to SlashFilm. And head to ABC News for a few more quotes.
