Mondo Unveils Tom Whalen's Beautiful Poster for Pixar's 'Toy Story'

Toy Story

There was an awesome run of a small batch of great posters from various artists through Mondo leading up to the release of The Avengers, and the collectible arthouse loves to release special posters in conjunction with certain films hitting theaters. However, sometimes it's their artwork that reaches back decades for new posters that truly impresses and that seems to be the case with Tom Whalen's new poster for Toy Story, a truly stunning piece of work that pays tribute to the toys of Andy's room from the first feature length computer animated film that hit theaters all the way back in 1995 (I know, I can't believe it either). Check Out Two Better International Posters for 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation'

G.I. Joe: Retaliation

Yesterday we featured a pretty disappointing final theatrical poster for G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and it was nothing short of a Photoshop mess. But today, two new international posters have surfaced that have a much sleeker design and much less obvious glossy touch-ups (though Bruce Willis still looks weird). Honestly, Paramount should just take one of these posters and slap the English title on it and send that out across the United States instead. Not only do they look better (mostly because of less dead white space), but they both fit with the original design from the poster for Rise of Cobra from three years ago. Look below! ›››

Amanda Seyfried is Quite the 70's Bombshell on Poster for 'Lovelace'

Lovelace

We've alrady gotten a first look at Amanda Seyfried as the infamous porn star Linda Lovelace in the aptly titled biopic Lovelace, and even caught a glimpse at a revamped poster for her most famous adult film Deep Throat with Seyfried looking rather seductive. Now a brand new official poster for the film has surfaced, and looks straight from the cover of some sort of non-existent magazine from the 70's with an impressive cast list. For those just joining us the film follows Linda Lovelace, who is used and abused by the porn industry at the behest of her coercive husband (Peter Sarsgaard), before taking control of her life. ›››

'Snow White and the Huntsman' & Evil Queen Get Character Posters

Snow White and the Huntsman

The trailers have done all but show me that the film will be absolutely astounding fantasy, but June is coming soon enough, so Snow White and the Huntsman is just around the corner. In the meantime, Universal is already keen on a sequel with writer David Koepp being hired to script it with the hopes of bringing the first film's director Rupert Sanders back for a second round right away. Now the marketing machine is pumping out a few last minute efforts at raising awareness in the form of a few character posters (compared to the plethora of them for The Expendables 2 and G.I. Joe: Retaliation). Check them out below! ›››

Will Smith Happily Rides a Monocycle on New 'Men in Black 3' Poster

Men in Black 3

While the second film in the series didn't do anything to impress, the couple trailers for Men in Black 3 do get me rather excited. It might be just the prospect of the black suits fighting the scum of the universe again, but it's more likely the amazing impression Josh Brolin delivers as a young Agent K, the character originated by Tommy Lee Jones. But now Will Smith gets the spotlight in an all-new poster with Agent J riding one of the monocycles we've caught a glimpse on in the trailers. It's a cool shot, but whoever Photoshopped those sunglasses onto Smith's face needs to be fired immediately. Either way I'm still excited. ›››

Another Cool Poster for 'The Amazing Spider-Man' Has Battle Damage

The Amazing Spider-Man

Just recently, two more slick posters for Marc Webb's The Amazing-Spider-Man surfaced featuring Andrew Garfield as everyone's friendly neighborhood wallcrawler with the skyline in his sights and scaling skyscrapers as well. Now a new poster gives us another angle of the full Spidey suit, complete with webshooters (check out the most recent viral for a closer look at those), with the backdrop of the city keeping the marketing theme looking rather metallic and pretty damn cool. But it looks like Spider-Man has seen better days, as those gashes across his chest likely came from The Lizard (Rhys Ifans). Look below! ›››

See a Trio of Vintage Travel Posters Featuring 'Ghostbusters' and More

Vintage Travel Movie Posters - New York

Back in 2010 we featured a small series of vintage travel posters highlighting the fictional locations of Metropolis, Gotham City and Neo Tokyo from talented graphic artist Justin Van Genderen. He even used New York as a location, but used fictional heroes like Spider-Man to make it fantastical. Now he's delivered another fantastic trio of similar posters with a new variation on New York that will be easily recognizable to those of us who have always wanted to wear a positron collider, not to mention a Yippee-Ki-Yay worthy take on Los Angeles and a classic take on Chicago that's all so f*cking hysterical. See what I mean below! ›››

Lionsgate Unveils Twelve Character Posters for 'The Expendables 2'

The Expendables 2 - Chuck Norris

So far the hype machine has been relatively quiet for the veteran action ensemble flick The Expendables 2 with only a teaser trailer paving the way for an August release later this year. Surely there will be another full trailer showin up sometime soon, but in the meantime, we have a taste of the entire line-up of meatheads in no less than 12, that's right 12, different character posters that include returning cast members like Sylvester Stallone, Jet Li, Jason Statham and more, along with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis having beefier parts and Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme joining the scene. ›››

Best Marketing for Peter Berg's 'Battleship' You'll See & It's Fan Made

Battleship Poster

It's becoming a trend in Hollywood recently that fans have started to create their own marketing/advertising for movies that's better than any of the real marketing the studio has put out. It happened with John Carter earlier this year and the fan trailers made for that, now it's happening with Battleship. I could not be more disinterested in this shlocky, cheesy CG Transformers-wannabe, but this poster (found on Tumblr) made by Rezaldi Wibi is the best bit of marketing I've seen for Peter Berg's board game movie yet. Finally captures the classic nature of the game and connects it with the movie, but I'm still not sure if I even want to see this. ›››

See LG's Awesome 3D Poster Ads for Their 3D Sound Home Theater

LG 3D Sound Ads - Kill Bill

Aside from the few lenticular posters that end up in movie theaters from time to time, there's no denying that movie posters are flat, and sometimes in more ways than just being two-dimensional pieces of paper. But what if you could see around the singular images we see on movie posters? A brilliant mind in advertising though the same thing and used it to advertise the LG's new Home Theater 3D Sound, which aims to have the sound of your films encapsulate your senses just as 3D televisions do. Kill Bill, Forrest Gump and Pretty Woman get the 3D poster treatment below, but I'd love to see more sometime soon. ›››

First Official Poster for Lesbian Werewolf Film 'Jack & Diane' is Here

Love is a monster

Love is a monster. I hear so many complaints about the crappy Hollywood movie posters we feature, here's finally a poster that I think is unique, eye-catching, bold, and impressive for an indie, and I hope you guys all agree! Vulture has unveiled the first official poster for Bradley Rust Gray's Jack & Diane, that "lesbian werewolf" film we've been following its development for over five years. They finally made it, shot it, and it's ready to make its premiere at the Tribeca Film Fest. Jack & Diane stars Juno Temple as Diane, and Riley Keough as Jack, two teenage girls who meet in New York City, and start to notice changes after a night of kissing. Take a look, this is a great poster, bravo to Bradley Rust Gray for kicking things off on the right foot. ›››

New Poster for 'Rock of Ages' is Nothin' But a Good Time in the 80's

Rock of Ages

The first two trailers were full of over-the-top 80's fashion and a soundtrack that would make The Breakfast Club blush, solidifying that it's going to be awesome to Tom Cruise singing his heart out in Rock of Ages this summer along with Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Malin Akerman, Russell Brand, Alec Baldwin and more. This jukebox musical with the tunes of Bon Jovi, Journey, Def Leppard and more might have audiences singing in the theaters, but until then, we have a fabulously 80's new poster with all characters Photoshopped to the max. It's not the best, but it has star power and glam. ›››

'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' Has Axe Will Travel on New Poster

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Since it doesn't seem like Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is going to stop taking itself a little too seriously (at least in my opinion) anytime soon, I guess we're going to have to deal with this marketing campaign until the film hits theaters on June 22nd this summer. While I get that the premise of the film is meant to be ridiculous, the tone, based on the couple trailer, feels like anything but that, and that seems like an issue to me. But for those still interested, we have a new international poster with the titular bad-ass president wielding an axe on a moving train but with enough composure to hold onto his signature hat. ›››

A New 'Piranha 3DD' Poster Delivers Both Titular Goods in One Shot

Piranha 3DD

Since the red band trailer brought us all the blood and boobs you've come to expect from Piranha 3DD, it's no surprise that the latter is featured more prominently than the deadly titular fish of the horror comedy on a sexy new poster. It's a little too touched up from the Photoshop side of things, and while that obscured face somewhat resembles "30 Rock" star Katrina Bowden (one of the film's cast members), American Reunion taught us that her chest companions don't exactly fit the "DD" part of the bill. Alas, there will be plenty of gore and nudity to feast eyes on this summer when the film hits theaters in June. Poster below! ›››
